Itinerary
Day 1: Board our transatlantic flight.

Day 2: After arrival, we head straight to EISENACH, site of the WARTBURG FORTRESS. It was here that Martin Luther translated the Bible, a revolutionary act of unparalleled importance. Later, we continue to ERFURT.
Day 3: A whole day in ERFURT links the past with the present. It was here that Luther studies and was a stronghold for radical thought. Luther became its most famous pupil. Most important, we visit the Augustiner Cloister where he lived and worked as a monk. We also visit the other wonderful sights of the city, the Cathedral, the Krämer Bridge and the Fish Market.

Day 4: Further into the former East Germany today to DRESDEN. In the 16th century the rulers of this area supported Luther but today it is best-known for the magnificent and recently restored Frauenkirche, OUR LADY`S CHURCH, the enormous bell-shaped cathedral that was destroyed at the end of World War II.

Day 5: Lutherstadt WITTENBERG became the capital of the Reformation. The door on Castle Church was the one on which Luther nailed his 95 Articles against corruption in the church in 1517, thereby beginning one of the greatest revolutions in religion. We visit all the famous sites including Luther´s tomb.

Day 6: Northeast this morning to the national capital of Germany, BERLIN, one of the world´s great cities. We will visit the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and the Kurfürstendamm, the 5th Avenue of the city.

Day 7: One of the last sections of the infamous Berlin Wall is on our agenda today as is a walk along Unter den Linden Street, where the history of Europe and Berlin is reflected in each block. We will see the Berlin Cathedral, the New Watch, the Berlin Opera, St. Hedwigs Cathedral, the Nikolai Quarter and the Humboldt University.

Day 8: Transfer to the airport to board our transatlantic flight back to the USA.
